PROGRAMS

Our mission is to provide all children facing adversity with professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever!

Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful mentorship matches between volunteers (Bigs) and children ages 6-18 (Littles). We then provide the training, resources and support necessary for those matches to succeed in our community based or site based programs.

COMMUNITY BASED

This is our traditional match in which adult mentors are paired with children ages 6-16, with the commitment to see each other 2 times per month for a couple hours. Each match is hand-selected by our team based on shared interests, geography and personality. Big and Littles plan their own outings filled with things they like to do, like sports, going to the beach or music.

SITE BASED

Our site based programs are very similar to our community based program, but take place on-site and are facilitated by our team. We have two distinct site based programs.

DESTINATION FUTURE

Destination Future is the support arm for our program, providing children with the tools and resources needed to stay on track toward on-time high school graduation and college readiness. This program includes campus visits, admissions and financial aid support, free SAT and ACT prep through Princeton Review, career exploration, scholarship opportunities and a proprietary career/internship opportunity portal. Littles who successfully complete our Destination Future program are given a laptop computer to take with them to college!

DESTINATION HEALTH

We realize the need our Littles have for support in growing up with healthy habits. Our matches are invited to more than 100 health-related events and was developed to provide our Bigs, Littles and their parents opportunities to engage in activities and obtain education centered on being physically active and more mindful of nutrition and health habits.
