“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County has a strong history of providing high-quality mentoring services and programs to thousands of youth. Destination Future aligns with our goal of supporting initiatives that take innovative approaches to serve the community with far-reaching results.”
—Annenberg Foundation’s Marsha Bonner
Director of Programs, Community Grantmaking and Special Initiatives

Workplace Mentoring celebrated five years in 2017, having launched with founding partner PIMCO in 2013.

“PIMCO is delighted to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County through Destination Future and Workplace Mentoring. This organization doubles down on impact and innovation, and pursues long-lasting change for youth and their families. As a firm that steadfastly believes in the power of philanthropy and volunteering, all of us at PIMCO feel honored to help them transform futures in Orange County.“

ONE PERSON CAN CHANGE A FUTURE

“Without Miguel, I am 100 percent sure I would have dropped out of high school.”
He’s kept me on the right path, away from gang bangers and drug deals going on in my neighborhood. He’s helped me discover that I have what it takes to accomplish anything I set my mind to, even when others expect me to fail.
In 2017, I not only graduated high school, but I also started at Coastline Community College. I know how lucky I am to have Migs in my life. My sisters didn’t have the kind of guidance I had through this program. Migs has given me a chance to succeed. Because of him, I am going to be the first person in my family to make something of myself and I know I will make all of them proud.”
Little Brother Anthony, class of 2017, has been matched with Miguel since June 19, 2009. He currently attends Coastline Community College with a goal of starting an action sports photography business.
Thank you to our 2017 donors
While Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national organization, we are locally funded and operated. Our program could not exist without the incredible support of our donors and partners who help us fund brighter futures for youth in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

THE POWER TO CHANGE A FUTURE STARTS WITH ONE PERSON:
One child, who raises their hand and says they’re ready for new opportunities. One volunteer, who encourages and guides their mentee through every challenge. One supporter, who chooses to invest in our program because they believe mentoring has the power to change a life for the better, forever.
