Bigger Together, Stronger for Our Youth
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire (BBBS OC/IE), we believe the greatest impact happens when organizations work together to support young people and the communities around them. One partnership that reflects this shared commitment is our ongoing collaboration with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian.
Hoag is a trusted, leading health care provider in Orange County, with a long-standing focus on whole-person and community-centered care. BBBS OC/IE complements that work through mentorship, supporting young people with consistent relationships that help them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of possibility for their future. Together, this partnership recognizes that health, opportunity, and connection are deeply intertwined.
Through the Hoag Community Benefit Program, Hoag has continued to support BBBS OC/IE’s work with local youth, recognizing mentorship as a meaningful way to address social and environmental factors that influence long-term well-being. Hoag has been a long time partner with the agency, supporting our case management team, mental health activities, and acting as a resource for many of our families through the Melinda Hoag Smith Center for Healthy Living. This spring, our partnership comes to life through several community-facing events.
HOAG CLASSIC WEEKEND
Friday, March 27, Saturday, March 28 & Sunday, March 29 | Newport Beach Country Club
The Hoag Classic is Orange County’s premier PGA TOUR Champions event, bringing legendary golfers together in support of Hoag and local nonprofit organizations.
Friday, starting at 2:30pm, is the TP-Link Celebrity Challenge, where celebrities will compete to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. A few select matches will be able to walk inside the ropes with our celebrity group.
On Saturday, during Salute to Service Day, BBBS will be proudly represented when Yahaira de Montes Oca, a BBBS Little and member of our Voices of Potential program, opens the day by performing the National Anthem. Yahaira is a Santa Ana-based senior in High School, and her performance highlights the confidence and leadership young people can develop when given the opportunity to be seen and heard.
On Sunday, March 29, BBBS matches are invited to attend Student Day, featuring the Chipotle First Tee “Chip”ping Contest from 12:00–2:00 PM, followed by the Champions Trophy Presentation at 4:00 PM. The day offers Littles a chance to experience a major community event alongside their Bigs.

Hoag Corporate Tour: College & Career Exploration
April 18 | Hoag Center for Healthy Living
As part of BBBS OC/IE’s Program Support Services, matched Bigs and Littles participate each year in a Corporate Tour designed to support college and career readiness. Led by College & Career Resource Specialist Christina Sundermeier, the experience exposes young people to professional environments and potential career paths.
This year, the tour will take place at the Hoag Center for Healthy Living, where Littles will explore careers connected to health, wellness, and community service—fields that play a vital role in Orange County’s future.
Hoag OC Marathon Weekend

BBBS OC/IE will also participate in the Hoag OC Marathon Weekend. Bigs, Littles, and staff will take part throughout the weekend, raising funds and awareness for mentorship while celebrating health, movement, and community.
