VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

ONE-TO-ONE MENTORING PROGRAMS

Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful mentorship matches between volunteers (Bigs) and youth ages 6-18 (Littles). We then provide the training, resources and support necessary for those matches to succeed.

TRADITIONAL MENTORING

VOLUNTEER

Adults age 18 or older

 

THE EXPERIENCE

Volunteers are matched with children ages 6 to 16. Matches plan activities twice a month based on their own schedule.

BIG COUPLES

VOLUNTEER

Two adults age 18 or older in a relationship for 2+ years

 

THE EXPERIENCE

Two volunteers are matched with a Little Brother age 6 to 16. Big Couples spend time with the child twice a month together or on their own.

WORKPLACE MENTORING

VOLUNTEER

Corporate employees at a participating Workplace Mentoring company

 

THE EXPERIENCE

Employees are matched with high school students and meet once a month at company headquarters. Sessions last 90 minutes and are facilitated by a Big Brothers Big Sisters program specialist.

HIGH SCHOOL BIGS

VOLUNTEER

High school students grades 9 – 12

 

THE EXPERIENCE

High school volunteers are matched with elementary school students. Mentoring sessions take place once a week after school at the elementary school for one hour and are led by a Big Brothers Big Sisters program specialist.

DESTINATION FUTURE

Destination Future is the support arm for our program, providing children with the tools and resources needed to stay on track toward on-time high school graduation and college readiness. This program includes campus visits, admissions and financial aid support, free SAT and ACT prep through Princeton Review, career exploration, scholarship opportunities and career/internship resources.
