Bowl For Kids’ Sake Raises More Than $100,000

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Big Brothers Big Sisters successfully hosted its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event April 14 at Bowlmor Lanes in Tustin. This year was the second iteration of the fundraising event, with proceeds going toward matching more children in Orange County with a mentor.

With the help of sponsors, participants and other supporters, the event raised nearly $110,000—surpassing an initial goal of $100,000! The amount raised will be able to match approximately 70 children who are currently on the wait list with a Big Brother or Big Sister.

At the event, more than 250 people enjoyed drinks, appetizers, raffle prizes (like Disneyland tickets, restaurant gift cards and golf packages) plus friendly competition. In order to compete, teams of eight people registered weeks prior to the event and set a minimum fundraising goal of $2,000. On Thursday night, 30 teams filled the lanes at Bowlmor; afterward, individual bowlers and teams were recognized for their efforts in four different award categories, including:

  • Highest Scoring Bowler: Tony Quiroga of Team Model Finance
  • Highest Scoring Bowling Team: Pam Adams and The Provisors Bowling For Dollars
  • Best Fundraiser: Nima Namadar, team captain of The X-Men, raised $5,450
  • Best Fundraising Team: Brad Coleman and his team Big Impact raised $8,660

Thank you to all of the sponsors, bowlers and attendees who made this event an incredible success!
