If you’re interested in becoming a mentor and answered yes to our volunteer requirements, the first thing you need to do is click here and enter your zip code so your inquiry will be routed directly to our agency. Then, fill out the form on the next screen with your name, gender, date of birth, email address and phone number. Someone from BBBS will be in touch within a few days!

You’ll meet with one of our enrollment and match specialists who will get to know you, from your favorite hobbies to biggest strengths. TIP: Relax and be as open as possible in your interview. Not only does our team look for matches with shared interests, but also similar personalities and life experiences.

During the interview, BBBS will also take your fingerprints and ask for references. All matches are hand-selected. Mentors are paired with their Littles based on multiple variables, with the ultimate goal of creating a strong and enduring relationship. You’ll meet your Little for the first time at the BBBS office to plan your first outing together.

It starts with simple yet consistent (twice a month) outings to grow your relationship.
You won’t be alone as a mentor. For added support and help, each match will have a match support specialist who will be there for matches as they face life challenges together and to check in through phone calls and emails. Volunteer Requirements
- Age 18 or older
- Orange County resident for at least one month
- Must be willing to commit at least one year to the program
- Must have driver’s license/proof of car insurance
- Must participate in a 90-minute interview
- Must be willing to undergo a background check which includes fingerprints and DMV records
