Big Brothers Big Sisters Receives $90K Grant from Hoag Hospital

[vc_row][vc_column][fwp-anim-text extra_class=””]In 2016, Big Brothers Big Sisters formed a partnership with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, which allowed our organization to launch three new High School Bigs program sites in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.

This July, Hoag renewed its commitment to the project and awarded Big Brothers Big Sisters a community benefit grant of $90,000 over the next 18 months. Hoag’s generosity will support the growth of the High School Bigs program by enabling our agency to provide more students with one-to-one mentors in the upcoming school year.

In addition to providing valuable financial support, Hoag allows youth in our program to obtain important resources through the Melinda Hoag Smith Center for Healthy Living. The center offers counseling, youth and family programs and dental check-ups. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff in the High School Bigs program also receive training with an emphasis on CPR, mental health and first aid at the center.

These contributions from Hoag help to benefit and transform the lives of many children and families in our community.
