We’d like to introduce you to a few individuals who are living examples of how our mentoring program can change the entire trajectory of a life and shape the futures of those around them.

[/fwp-anim-text][vc_separator color=”grey” align=”align_center”][fwp-anim-text animated=”true” animation=”enter right move 10px over 1s after”]Back in 1946, at 12 years old, Jim Curry’s brothers had just left to join the Army and his father lived out of state. When Jim started skipping school, his mother thought he would benefit from having a Big Brother.

“Big Brothers changed my life,” Jim says of his time in the program in Dallas, where he grew up. “It made a big difference having someone who cared so much about me. I didn’t want to disappoint him.”

Jim has been there for Jacob through many of life’s up and downs, including the death of his mother.

“He’s a much better kid than I was,” Jim says. “He’s good, honest and polite—he always thanks me for our outings and tells me how much he likes hanging with me. It’s a match made in heaven.”[/fwp-anim-text][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_btn title=”Help us build brighter futures for local youth.
