This year, Weingart Foundation awarded BBBS with a grant of $150,000. The two-year unrestricted operating support (uos) grant will support the four pillars of our strategic plan:

  1. Engaging and Retaining More Volunteers
  2. Increasing Brand Visibility
  3. Building Board and Fund Development Capacity
  4. Creating a Dynamic and Collaborative Work Environment

The Weingart Foundation’s mission is “to build a better Southern California by supporting nonprofit organizations to more effectively serve the underserved.” By supporting our organization with resources to facilitate growth and also encouraging engagement, visibility, equity and innovation, the Weingart Foundation is positioning Big Brothers Big Sisters to change the lives of more kids in our community through youth mentoring. [/fwp-anim-text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][fwp-anim-text animated=”true” animation=”enter right move 10px over 1s after”]

“We are so honored to have been selected by the Weingart Foundation as a 2016-17 grantee. This grant means a lot to us as we strive to serve more youth every year and achieve our goal to reach 4,000 youth annually by 2019. Much of the work that we will carry out over the next two years to achieve this goal requires core operating funds, and this grant will ensure that our operations management and fundraising efforts reach the next level to achieve success.”
