HIGH SCHOOL BIGS
A Peer Mentorship Movement That’s Changing School Culture From the Inside Out
This mentorship program for high school students empowers teens to create real change on their campuses by mentoring elementary students (Littles) once a week through structured, after-school sessions. High school mentors (Bigs) build leadership, confidence, and empathy while younger students gain a relatable role model who helps them grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
This isn’t just mentorship—it’s a movement led by the next generation of changemakers.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Sessions take place once a week after school at the elementary site, led by trained Big Brothers Big Sisters staff. Our peer mentorship curriculum is rooted in social-emotional learning and structured play to keep students engaged while promoting growth. Weekly activities include:
- STEAM games and collaborative projects
- Goal-setting and growth mindset exercises
- Homework help and life-skills conversations
- Character and relationship-building activities
