Empowering Women Through Mentorship

WE'RE PROUD TO CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the strong women who came before us. And at Big Brothers Big Sisters, we are cultivating the next generation of history makers. Through our one-to-one mentorship programs, we help young women develop strengths as leaders, discover future career opportunities and become advocates for social change in their communities.

YOU CAN EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN

While we always welcome new volunteers, being a mentor in our Community program isn’t the only way to ignite potential for our future leaders! Discover some of the innovative ways you can inspiring the next generation of young women and drop us a line. We’re excited to share more about how you, your workplace or school can get involved.

Women in the Workplace Mentoring

Workplace Mentoring offers high school students a jump start in their professional development and exposure to major corporations with the guidance of a mentor. The focus on college and career readiness opens the doors to new opportunities and helps them build relationships with skilled professionals.

Our Women in the Workplace cohort of Workplace Mentoring launched in 2018 in collaboration with PIMCO. This extension of our corporate mentoring model inspires young women in high school to explore career pathways from professionals in the financial services industry.

We are always interested in speaking to dynamic corporate partners interested in bringing this mentoring program model to your workplace. Join us to inspire the next generation of women!

Workplace Mentoring sessions are held once a month during the academic year. A corporate gift is associated with this program to help us underwrite cost, overhead and growth.

Career Day

Career Days with Big Brothers Big Sister inspire the next generation!

Through this event, youth receive a valuable “behind the scenes” look at the inner workings of your organization and can explore future paths.

Team up with Big Brothers Big Sisters to host a women in the workplace edition that empowers high school or middle school-aged youth.

This workplace experience is customizable and could include opportunities like panel discussions, virtual workplace tours, group activities and more.

Career Days are approximately one hour and are scheduled during the school year on a Saturday or weekday after school hours. A corporate gift is associated with this experience to help us underwrite cost, overhead and program growth.

COLLEGE BIGS

This new virtual program model launched in late 2020, born from the evolving needs of our high school students. College Bigs offers emotional support for first-generation college-bound youth as they navigate financial, academic and cultural barriers in their pursuit of higher education.

Connect with us to bring College Bigs mentoring to your virtual campus. Members of your women’s leadership program, professional honor societies or sorority can lend personal and professional guidance to our next generation of female leaders!
